Assistant Office Manager/IT Manager/Wound Care Tech
Matthew is Dr. Boyle's eldest son and has been ‘the brains’ for helping Dr. Boyle begin his private practice in 2009. Physician Wound Care first began as a "mobile" wound care service traveling to skilled nursing facilities in the Salt Lake valley and Matthew was Dr. Boyle’s medical/technical assistant. When opening the clinic at St. Mark’s Hospital in January 2012 it was Matthew who spearheaded the clinic to run ‘paperless’ by creating electronic health records with use of an IPAD. He and Dr. Boyle tirelessly created wound care templates that are used for our clinics wound care documentation.
When at the clinic you will see Matthew wearing a variety of ‘hats’. He manages all of the clinic's computers, printers, iPad's, and other miscellaneous technology, is often answering phones and doing patient scheduling, or working with patients in the treatment rooms to expand his skills as a medical assistant. He is graduating with a Bachelor’s in Biology at the University of Utah and is applying to medical schools for admission in the fall of 2013. Matthew has been a professional musician since the age of 11 when he landed his first paid job playing the piano at a restaurant.
He has continued to be a pianist for five star hotels, fine dinner restaurants, parties, weddings and teaches advanced piano as well as an accompanist for ‘5 to 1 Music Studio’. Matthew is also an accomplished Jazz saxophonist providing solo concerts for Fashion Place Mall, Salt Lake Community College (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNyksYiuJTo), The Wasatch Jazz Project and the Phoenix Big Band, which are both 20-piece big bands. In his spare time you will find Matt with his brothers at Gold’s gym, playing basketball, brewing homemade beer, or watching sports (basketball/football/tennis/soccer).
