Q: How do I know if I need a Wound Specialist?
A: Within 4 weeks most wounds should have healed or made significant progress. If this has not occurred or if it is becoming worse in any way, contact us immediately.
Q: How is it best to arrange an evaluation?
A: It is best for a referral to come through your Primary Care Provider so that important medical records can be forwarded to us prior to your first visit, and if necessary, insurance authorizations can be initiated by our staff. However, self-referrals are never turned away.
Q: Will I experience pain during wound care visits?
A: When needed, topical anesthetics are applied to wounds prior to cleaning or removal of adherent debris. This often requires 10 - 20 minutes of extra time to take effect so prompt arrival for appointment times is very helpful.
